The department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering in MBITS was established in the year 2010, with an annual intake of 60 students. The department has got an efficient team of distinguished, well qualified faculty and technical staff headed by Prof. Aleyas M V, who has got over 30 years of academic experience. The department is bestowed with well equipped classroom, library & full-fledged state-of-the-art laboratories.

Faculty is encouraged to update themselves by participating in faculty development programmes in other institutions. Department also conducts programmes to enhance the technical and research skills of the faculty.

The very first batch (2010-2014) passed out with the highest pass percentage in M.G University.

In short span of time department could organize a National Conference on Recent Advances in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (NCREEE-15) in association with Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) and International Journal of Advanced Research in Electrical, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering (IJAREEIE).


Electrical & Electronics Engineering association (ADROITS) is recognized for organizing seminars, workshops and quizzes regularly with an objective to impart quality technical education & skill to students. Apart from providing deep subject knowledge, department also organizes various group discussions, extempore to develop their soft skills and positive attitude to work as part of a group. The students are also encouraged to participate in technical activities in various colleges to provide a general exposure.


As part of the curriculum, students are encouraged to take up activities in the GramaPanchayaths like Energy audit, Maintenance and repair of existing electrical wiring in households, general awareness for renewable energy resources and conservation etc.

The academic excellence is exhibited by the alumni, many of whom have been placed in top rated MNCs and academic fields, pursuing higher studies in well reputed institutions.
