Dr P. Sojan Lal has more than 30 years of blended experiences, with major international petroleum companies in Middle East and premier educational institutions in India. He has authored 6 technical books, two of them published in Germany and other books published in India. He is an approved research supervisor of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam; University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun; and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala, India.

Dr. P Sojan Lal received many international awards and distinct recognitions. He is the secretary of NIT-Warangal alumni association Kerala chapter since 2016 and also serving as President, YMCA Pothanicad unit since 2018. Dr. Sojan Lal is an active member of Lions Club International.
Dr. Sojan Lal is a member of ASME (Formerly District (J)) operating board member, Middle East and Africa,one among 3 director board memebers, Life member of CSI & ISTE and fellow of The Institution of Engineer (India), since 2004. He was the Brand Ambasador of PAN NIT, alumni association, Middle East (2013-15).

We are delighted to note our record placement, 97% for 2019 outgoing B.Tech batch. 30 students of 2019 B.Tech batch have CGPA 8 and above out of 10. M.Tech (2019, Civil) have secured 100% pass. Also glad to note the excellent S8 B.Tech results of 2015-19 batch with 84.5% average and having 17th position in Kerala among 143 engineering colleges. (ME - 92.45% with 6th position in Kerala, CE-75.9%, CSE 84.31%, ECE-78.26% and EEE - 86.36%). Ladies hostel inmates of 8th Semester have secured 100% pass in their examination and also 100 % placement. Students of various classes secured 100% pass for 243 theory subjects in the University exams over the last 5 years. Ms. Joanna Biju secured SGPA 10 out of 10 in S2 EEE (2019). S8 B.Tech students (2014-18 Batch) have 88.5% average pass and 62 students secured SGPA above 8 out of 10 in the May-June 2018 university examinations. Among them, 21 students have SGPA above 9 out of 10. Congratulations to all students, parents and staff for their remarkable results and placement achievements.
Mr. Ganesh Sreedhar and Team (FORBOTS) won 1st prize in Smart India Hackathon (SIH)-Hardware edition-2019. More than 2 lakh students from 2000 institutions participated in the event. Congratulations to the team. MBITS was selected as one among the two nodal centers of SIH in 2017.
We observed 680 students received financial aid of rupees one Crore 66.43 Lakhs from Management and 131 students received external merit scholarship of rupees 27.05 Lakhs during the year.
Eco friendly Bio-gas plant was installed for the usage in our Canteen and ground water recharging system was constructed. Rain water harvesting tank with 6.5 lakh liters capacity and green campus are some typical distinct projects.
Filafire (2019), a cultural festival of differently abled students and Thandav- an inter- collegiate dance festival was organized. Government Engineering college, Trichur won the first prize in the dance competition.
MBITS continues to be the Nodal centre for Unnath Barath Abhiyan (UBA), Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) focussing rural upliftment. Also an approved centre for online examination since 2012 for GATE, CAT, RRB, JEE, JIPMER, AIIMS, IBPS, State Bank etc.
Some typical socially relevant projects are; Design, testing and implementation of Pneumatic Jack and Wrench in breakdown van of KSRTC (Kerala State Road Transport Corporation), This is first of its kind project in Kerala for KSRTC; Newsletter Android app developed for Pothanicad Grama Panchayath, in connection with ISO certification of the Panchayath.
Interactive sessions and inspirational talks were arranged in 2019 by eminent personalities like Adv. N.C. Mohanan, Chairman, TELK, Angamali; Dr.Christy Fernandez IAS (Retd.), Former Secretary, President of India; Mr. Jijimon K.M., DYSP, District Crime branch; Dr. K.N. Madhusoodanan, Vice Chancellor, CUSAT; Mr. Hari N, Scientist G, NPOL, DRDO; Dr. S. Somanath, Distinguished Scientist & Director, VSSC, ISRO, Government of India, Thiruvananthapuram; Senior Advocate Mrs. V.V. Seemandini; and Dr. D.R.Vaman (Pioneer Patent holder), Senior Executive Director, DRJ Telecom, USA.
All India 4th position for Quad Torc (The Off Road Design Championship introduced by Indian Society of New Era Engineers), and selected one projects each in KPIT Sparkle in 2019 and 2020 (Theme: Mobility and energy for the future) are some of the typical commendable projects.We are delighted to note that more than 25 MOUs signed including NIT, Warangal; TELK, Angamali and DRJ Telecom, USA.
The recent visit of Prof. Dr. N. V. Ramana Rao, Director, NIT, Warangal in January, 2020 has further strengthened our collaborations with NIT. His talk on future of engineering education in India and inspirational talks enlightened students and staff.
20% increase in student admission during 2018-19 is due to the excellent feedback from the students, parents, society and by the steady progress of MBITS. We are extremely glad to note that we could sustain the admission of last year in 2019 also.
We are extremely glad to note that National Assessment and Accreditation council (NAAC) peer team visit is scheduled for 23rd and 24th January 2020. We welcome the honourable delegates to MBITS.
