Mar Basil Group of Institutions are under the auspices of Mar Thoma Cheria Pally, Kothamangalam, which is a six century old Parish Church and Pilgrim Centre, that is relied upon by millions of devotees for miraculous intercessions. The saint ‘Eldho Mar Baselios’ undertook an arduous journey, from the Holy Land to Malankara, to give spiritual guidance to the followers of the church. This holy father was called to his eternal abode at Kothamangalam and the Saint’s holy shrine is situated inside the Mar Thoma Cheria Pally, Kothamangalam. Mar Basil Group of Institutions began its journey in the field of higher education with the establishment of Mar Basil School in 1936 and was upgraded to Mar Basil Higher Secondary School in 1998.
