Emerging Technologies in Infrastructure Development

The latest developments in the planning, design, execution and management of the various type of infrastructure, are to be made conversent to the faculty members of the civil engineering department. Three day  Faculty Development Programme was organized by civil engineering department of MBITS sponsered by KTU on “Emerging Technologies in Infrastructure Development” from 6th to 8th June 2018. Sessions were handled by eminent speakers from leading industries and engineering colleges. Chief Guest Er. Srinidhi Anantharaman ( CEO & Founder MD, Geodesic Techniques, Bangalore), Er. A Chandrakumaran Nair (Airport Director & Executive Director, CIAL, Cochin), Dr. A S Sajith (Associate Professor, NIT, Calicut), Dr. N Unnikrishnan (Professor, GEC, Thrissur), Dr. Job Thomas (Professor, CUSAT, Cochin), Dr. Mathews M Paul (Professor, MACE, Kothamangalam), Dr. Elson John (Associate Professor, MACE, Kothamangalam), Er. Suresh S (Associated Structural Consultants, Cochin), Er. M B Suresh (EKK Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd., Perumbavoor, Cochin), Er. Jismon Issac (Technical director,  Metrolla Steels Ltd).  Participants gained in depth focus on Elevated Trambus® - A New Approach to Urban Transport, Cost Effective Airport Infrastructure, Structural Control using Passive Systems-Theory and Applications,  Recent Developments in the Field of Seismic Resistant Design and Construction, Innovative Construction  Methods of Infrastructure Development, Failures & Challenges in Geotechnical Engineering, Innovations in Construction Technology, Use of Admixtures for High Performance of Concrete and its Optimisation, Concrete Mix Design and How to choose the right TMT grade?. Participants from various engineering colleges under KTU whole over Kerala attended the three day programme.  Overall, this FDP served to be a great platform for participants to upgrade their knowledge in the emerging technologies in infrastructure development.
